  • Mila Henderson, DVM

Dr. Henderson moved to Florida at the age of twelve from California.  She transferred to the University of Florida for her Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (Linguistics) after completing her A.A. degree at St. Johns River Community College in Palatka, FL. Dr. Henderson spent the first two years after her UF graduation as a Peace Corps volunteer in Morocco, North Africa, teaching technical English to business students. After returning to Gainesville, FL, in 1991, she completed her Master in Elementary Education while serving the UF student community as an academic advisor in the College of Health and Human Performance.  Her outside volunteer interests at an animal sanctuary/veterinary clinic led to her interest in veterinary medicine, and in 2008 she started the veterinary program at UF's College of Veterinary Medicine, where she graduated in 2012.  Her first job as a veterinarian was in shelter medicine before joining Community Animal Clinic in February, 2014.  Dr. Henderson's pets include cats and dogs.
