06/18/20 Community Animal Clinic COVID-19 Update

As we continue to navigate our new environment, we wanted to give everyone an update.  We are able to provide all of our normal services now.  If you need any prescription medications, foods, supplements, or your routine heartworm and flea medications, just give the office a call.  We will gather all that you need, arrange checkout over the phone, and have your items available for you to pick up outside with minimal to no contact.

We are scheduling routine vaccines and surgeries without restriction.  However, at this time we are still continuing to see pets in the building without their pet parents.  We have been amazed at how well your fur babies have done.  We are blessed to have so many wonderful clients with happy and well-adjusted pets.  However, we know there are some of our patients that can get overly stressed.  Please let us know if you have any concerns about your curbside appointment when scheduling.  Our wonderful receptionists will consult with your doctor about your concerns and we will determine a plan.

Even though you are not present during the exam, everything proceeds as if you were there.  Your doctor will speak with you via telephone to review the appointment and make sure all of your concerns and questions are answered.  All of our awesome technicians have been tremendous during this uncharted adventure.  So many of your pets know and love them ... so it does make bringing them in without you a little easier.

The process for the curbside appointments does seem to be taking us a little longer and we apologize for that.  We also know our phone lines have been "on fire".  Please know that we are working diligently to take care of everyone with the same level of care and compassion that you have come to know from us.

There are a couple of additional ways to contact us for non-urgent requests such as food or prescription refills if it is easier for you. If you have already provided your email address, visit https://www.vetsecure.com/communityanimalclinic/ to login to your personalized Pet Portal.  Here, you can view your pet's vaccination history, order prescription refills, order food refills, or request appointments.  If you do not have a Pet Portal already, it's simple to signup. Visit https://www.vetsecure.com/communityanimalclinic/login#sign-in/need-account and provide your email address. We will assign you a password that you can then login with. You can also email us at communityanimal@cfl.rr.com  You can access your Pet Portal or email us at any time of day but please give us at least a 24hr notice to fulfill your requests.

Our hope was that we would soon be transitioning back to some in-clinic appointments but the recent spike in Florida cases has put that on hold.  We understand that so many things are frustrating as we learn to navigate the ever changing times.  Our priority is to be able to stay open to meet the needs of our patients while providing a safe environment for our staff as well as our clients.  All staff members are screened daily and temperature checked to help ensure the safety of everyone.  We all continue to wear our PPE.  We are also continuing to close a half hour early each day to allow staff plenty of time to disinfect and prepare for the following day.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to give the office a call at 386-445-1822.
