After returning to Gainesville, FL, in 1991, she completed her Master in Elementary Education while serving the UF student community as an academic advisor in the College of Health and Human Performance.  Her outside volunteer interests at an animal sanctuary/veterinary clinic led to her interest in veterinary medicine, and in 2008 she started the veterinary program at UF's College of Veterinary Medicine, where she graduated in 2012.  Her first job as a veterinarian was in shelter medicine before joining Community Animal Clinic in February, 2014.  Dr. Henderson lives with her two parrots, two cats, and two dogs.
